目的・内容
2007（平成19）年度に生存研とフィンランドの VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland が一般学術交流協定 (MOU) を締結したことを受け、情報交換を通じて相互の理解を深め、共通テーマである「持続的な木質バイオマスの利用」に関する国際シンポジウム（英語）を行った。研究範囲は、熱処理木材の技術開発と利用、バイオ燃料、木材の劣化制御など多岐にわたるが、主な視点は実用化に向けた応用研究である。その意味で企業からの参加を強く奨励した。このシンポジウムは両研究機関の MOU のキックオフシンポジウムと位置づけられたものである。
