目的・内容

マレーシア理科大学生物学部と京都大学生存圏研究所（旧木質科学研究所）は、2001（平成13）年7月に協定を締結し、主として都市昆虫学の分野で研究交流を進めて来た。2006（平成18）年7月に協定の更新を行い、より広い分野での研究交流を実施することに合意した。

この様な背景から、本セミナーの発表内容は木質科学に関する基礎研究から先端研究までの最新の研究テーマを網羅するものとなった。また今回、生存圏研究所から若手研究者を参加させ、海外での発表などを経験させることにより、国際的見地からの研究者としての資質向上を同時に達成できる内容とした。
