要旨
この地球上に暮らしている数多くの生物のどれ一つを取っても、単独で暮らしているものはいない。生きるために他の生物を食べたり、餌をめぐって競争しあっ たり、互いに助けあったり、というように多様な関係で結ばれており、このような生物間の相互作用が組み合わさって、生態系が形作られている。この生態系 ネットワークは、生物多様性を生み出し、それを維持する重要な役割を果たしていることが明らかになってきた。生物多様性と生態系ネットワークの繋がりを探 るために新たに提案した間接相互作用網 (Indirect Interaction Web) アプローチの紹介を通して、自然界における生態系ネットワークの意義を考える。
