The Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere Research is engaged in innovative efforts in a wide variety of research fields with the aim of realizing a sustainable future.
The research systems that support the foundations of the science of the biosphere are at the forefront of the pursuit of the symbiosis between nature and humans, delving deeply into important themes such as the environment, energy, materials, and space. Here we introduce the missions and activities of each research division.

Division of Diagnostics and Control of the Humanosphere

In addition to eight research fields that focus on the understanding of various phenomena occurring in the biosphere and the analysis and control of their mechanisms, we have also established inter-disciplinary research fields with foreign and domestic visiting scientists.

Laboratory of Material Biology

Laboratory of Biomass Conversion

Laboratory of Metabolic Science of Forest Plants and Microorganisms

Laboratory of Plant Gene Expression

Laboratory of Atmospheric Sensing and Diagnosis

Laboratory of Atmospheric Environmental Information Analysis

Laboratory of Radar Atmospheric Science

Laboratory of Atmospheric Observation Data Analysis

Division of Creative Research and Development of Humanosphere

In addition to eight research fields that focus on the development of technologies and materials necessary for the creation of sustainable spheres of existence, the Center has established a comprehensive research field with foreign and domestic visiting scientists.

Laboratory of Active Bio-based Materials

Laboratory of Sustainable Materials

Laboratory of Timber Science and Engineering

Laboratory of Innovative Humano-habitability

Laboratory of Computer Simulation for Humanospheric Sciences

Laboratory of Applied Radio Engineering for Humanosphere

Laboratory of Space Electromagnetic Environment Exploration

Center for Future Pioneering Research on the Humanosphere

In April 2022, the Research Center for Sustainable Ars Vivendi was established as a research organization to explore further possibilities in ars vivendi science.
