Assistant Professor Chen Shuoya’s research topic has been selected for the BOOST program, which supports the development of young researchers and doctoral students in the field of national strategy. Research will begin in July 2025 at Akita Prefectural University (cross-appointment destination) and the Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere, Kyoto University.

Research project:High-throughput data-driven platform to accelerate the development of wood-based materials.
Wood-based materials derived from renewable lignocellulosic resources play a vital role in the realization of a sustainable society. This project aims to develop artificial intelligence (AI) systems corresponding to each stage of wood-based material development, including material design, optimization of manufacturing conditions, and quality control (AI for integrating development knowledge, AI for searching optimal manufacturing conditions, and AI for quality management). By systematically integrating these AI systems, this project seeks to establish a high-throughput, data-driven platform that enables the accelerated development of novel wood-based materials for diverse applications.
