The purposes of RISH are to conduct research as well as to provide opportunities and places for collaborative research with other domestic and foreign universities and research institutions. RISH is headed by Director, and governing body, which are Executive Board, Professors Meeting, and Advisory Board, is placed under the Director. Executive Board is the highest decision-making authority which consists of full-time professors of RISH as well as Deans of related graduate schools within the university such as agriculture, engineering, informatics, science, and a representative of directors of other research institutes at Uji campus of Kyoto University. Professors Meeting consists of full-time professors of RISH, and deliberates matters referred by Executive Board.
