Sustainable Standardization Strategy Unit

Principal Investigator(PI): Dr. Yoshikatsu Ueda

The Sustainable Standardization Strategy Unit aims to promote interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaborative research within Humanosphere Science by leveraging international standardization. International standards, developed through the International

Organization for Standardization (ISO),  serves as an essential tool for systematically sharing research outcomes and knowledge globally, fostering universally recognized scientific values.

This unit specifically focuses on the Fine Bubble technology area (ISO/TC281), working collaboratively with industries and researchers from multiple countries. Efforts include establishing an international standardized database for Fine Bubble measurement data and proposing new standardization topics.

Additionally, the unit examines a broad spectrum of research topics pursued by Kyoto University’s Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere, exploring their potential from an international standardization perspective. The overarching goal is to contribute meaningfully to the global advancement of Humanosphere Science.

Research

  • Elucidation of Fundamental Characteristics through Precise Measurement of Ultra Fine Bubbles
  • Development of Real-Time Motion Tracking for Environmental Radioactivity Walking Surveys with KURAMA-II
  • Development of water treatment system using plasma and fine bubble
  • Fine Bubble Water for Environmental treatment: Investigating Sterilization and Cleaning Mechanisms
  • Degradation of waste plastics by the combination of microorganisms and physicochemical pretreatments
