Thank you for participating in the 15th MST radar workshop and the 18 th EISCAT symposium.
Total participants in workshop and symposium were 182
(62 people was from 18 Japanese institutes and
others were from 67 foreign institutes in 18 contries.)
The special issue from this meeting started
on the EPS (Earth, Planets, and Space) journal page.
We will accept submission of papers by December 31, 2017,
and aim to publish all papers by April 2018.
We extend the deadline to February 28, 2018.
A very successful series of workshops on "Technical and Scientific Aspects of MST Radar"
has been held over the last 30 years.
During the last meeting, MST14/iMST1
held in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, in May 2014,
the scope of the workshop was expanded to allow the possibility
that future meetings might include ionospheric radar techniques and research.
The 15th International Workshop on Technical and Scientific Aspects of MST Radar, to be coded as MST15/iMST2, will be held at the National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR), Tokyo, Japan during May 27-31, 2017. It will overlap with the 18th EISCAT symposium (May 26-30, 2017) being held at the same venue, and participants of both events can attend sessions of both meetings. Furthermore, these meetings will be held following the JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting 2017 at Makuhari, Chiba, Japan on May 20-25, 2017 --- so late May 2017 in Japan will be a special time to learn about the latest developments in geospace and radar science!
The specific focus of the upcoming MST15/iMST2 workshop in Tokyo will be meso/strato/tropospheric and ionospheric coherent scatter radars, but contributions from related areas, such as incoherent scatter probing, collaborative studies using radars and other instruments like lidars and in-situ studies, and relevant modeling efforts will also be welcome and included.
