Tension wood -formation and mechanism-

Tension wood is a reaction wood formed in the stem of angiosperm woody plants. Tension wood generates higher tensile stress than normal wood, it causes bending stem or branch to regulate their position against the gravity axis. We are studying the mechanisms how it is formed and generates tensile stress.
