Wood identification of historical wooden buildings |
|
Among cultural heritage constructions registered by the government, wooden constructions cover 88% (as of June 2006). Experienced master carpenter has been identifying wood species and mending as it had been used by using identical species. Usually most of famous temples have been undergone many renovations, some are noted in the ancient writings, but some are not. Therefore, the knowledge of wood identification is more and more interested with recent increasing demands of renovation against the earthquake. This is in such a situation that we carry out wood identification of cultural heritages in order to give a sort of academic certificate.
Preservation of national heritages through wood identification is one of our contributions toward the sustainable society!!
